Wine & Gastronomy Tour (8 days/7 nights)

Moldova is one of Europe's most authentic with destinations, where ancient winemaking traditions meet rice local gastronomy. Wine & Gastronomy Tours invite travelers to explore underground wine cellars, elegant winery estates, and family-run vineyards, while savoring traditional Moldovan dishes.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1:  Arrive in Chisinau.

You will be met by your guide at Chisinau International Airport and transferred to your hotel by private vehicle. Check in at your hotel with some time to relax.

Day 2:  Chisinau Walking Tour and Milestii Mici Winery

In the first part of the day, you will begin your half-day tour of the wonderful highlights of Chisinau. You will see during the tour most beautiful parks, Soviet-era architecture, monuments of imperial architecture of Bessarabia and several notable churches. All the major historic sites were constructed in the 19th century (all of them from the local white limestone creating an image of the city as "A Stone Flower") reflecting the period of history known as Imperial. 

Around 12:00 we departed to Mileștii Mici Winery, listed in the Guinness World Records for its impressive collection of nearly 2 million bottles and included in UNESCO’s Tentative List of World Heritage Sites. The total length of the galleries is about 200 km, of which more than 50 km are currently in use. To experience the scale of these tunnels, visitors are transported by an electric mini-train.

At Mileștii Mici, you’ll enjoy a guided tour through the underground wine galleries, ending with a memorable wine tasting session.

Next will do a traditional lunch called “Moldova” and taste of 5 amazing Mileștii Mici wines and get a gift: 1 bottle of wine. The tour, wine tasting (fourchette), duration – 2.5 hours. At the end of the day, you will return to your hotel.

Day 3:  Cricova Winery & Old Orhei Tour with a culinary masterclass

After breakfast, enjoy guided tour to Old Orhei Natural Historical Reservation. 

Excursion to Orheiul Vechi situated in a picturesque setting. Visit the most interesting archaeological site housing the ruins of two cities (14th -16th century). Tatars settled here on their expansion to Western Europe. Continue with a visit to the well-maintained Orthodox cave monastery called St. Maria Dormata which was expanded and modified inside the cliffs by monks over the centuries. 
Enjoy a tasty lunch with traditional food in Old Orhei villages. Here we arrange a Moldovan culinary masterclass in a local guesthouse complex. You cook together with local Moldovan women who explain techniques, history and traditions. 

Continue excursion to wine cellars of Cricova, which is one of the largest wine cellars in Moldova. It boasts a mere 128 km of labyrinthine roadways and tunnels, which have existed under Cricova since the 15th century, when limestone was dug out to help build the city of Chisinau. Enjoy wine tasting 5 samples of wine + 1 sparkling wine. Platter with fresh vegetables, cheese, and assorted meats, cheese pie, potatoes and cabbage, polenta with pork stew, sour cream and sheep cheese, Dessert „Baba Neagră”.


Return to the hotel in Chisinau.

Day 4: Castle MIMI Winery and Asconi Winery

Breakfast and departure to Castel MIMI Winery. The experience continues with a premium wine tasting, featuring a curated selection of Castel Mimi’s signature 5 wines. Each wine will be accompanied by sommelier explanations, revealing tasting notes, aromas, and the winemaking secrets behind every bottle and there will be 5 mini snacks to accompany each wine.

Next, we drive to Asconi Winery. Enjoy a wine tour (1 hour) at Asconi Winery - an authentic and complete experience of discovering Moldovan wines, combining local viticultural tradition with modern winemaking technologies. Guided Tour of the winery – where we discover the entire production process, from fermentation and maturation to bottling and storage in oak barrels. Then we do a Moldovan wine tasting – guided tasting of selected Asconi wines (7 wines), accompanied by water and homemade breadcrumbs.


Lunch at Asconi Winery. Return to the hotel in Chisinau. Overnight stay.

Day 5: Leuntea Vin Winery, Purcari Winery and Pension La Tudora

Today you will be driven to Leuntea Vin Winery. The winery tour includes historical components, such as the oldest cellars and the Ponset Manor. And is followed by a tasting of 5 types of wine of your choice that will be served with a tasty traditional lunch.

Later enjoy a wine tour at Chateau Purcari Winery. The Château is again known to the whole world for its premium wines, which have received awards and praise from international competitions like Decanter, Challenge International du Vin, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, International Wine and Spirit Competition as well as the legendary patronage of the royal court of Great Britain. Tour of the "Winery Purcari" includes: Excursion and wine tasting of 3 wines. 

In the evening we drive to Pension La Tudora. Set in a picturesque rustic landscape, the guesthouse offers a unique experience in the heart of village life, inviting guests to discover the charm of local gastronomy and become part of the story of the local farmers. Visitors are invited to participate in cooking workshops or making wreaths from local flowers, all of which create a truly authentic tourist experience. Overnight stay at Pension La Tudora. 

Day 6: Discover Gagauzia Culinary Workshops and Vinuri de Comrat Winery

Early morning transfer to Comrat, the capital of the Gagauzia autonomy and visit the main sights of the city. The Gagauzian community is a unique Orthodox community of Turkish Gagauzian origin. In the afternoon we transfer to Congaz village. At the ethno-tourist complex GAGAUZ SOFRASI, experience the beauty and diversity of rural life, get acquainted with traditions and culture of Gagauz. Hands-on cooking masterclasses on: Gagauz Gozleme (plăcinte), Traditional bakery in the stone oven etc.

Later enjoy a tour of the historic grounds of the Vinuri de Comrat winery complex, including ancient 19th-century cellars. Tasting rooms and the Museum of Forgotten Things. Tasting of 5 Vinuri de Comrat wines. A visit to the brand store. A photo shoot in traditional costumes. Here visitors experience a performance by a local folk group — for example, a folk ensemble of local ladies performing traditional songs and dances, usually organized in connection with the museum visit.


Later we stay overnight in ecological houses made of clay in Gagauz Sofrasi complex. 

Day 7: Château Cojușna & Château Vartely

Today, drive to Château Vartely Winery, a remarkable winery where tradition, culture, and modern winemaking come together to create exceptional wines. The visit is complemented by excursion and a curated tasting of four premium wines – white, red, and rosé – each paired thoughtfully with a selection of gourmet bites designed to highlight their organoleptic qualities. 

At Chateau Vartely we are organizing a wine painting workshop where participants are invited to create unique works using wine as a medium of color, in a relaxing and picturesque setting, in the middle of the vineyards and on the winery terraces. This experience combines creativity, relaxation and Moldovan wine culture, offering a memorable activity for groups. Enjoy also an interactive wine blending workshop. During this experience, guests taste several wines side by side, explore their aromas and structure, and then combine them to create their own custom blend. Each group receives bottles, funnels, labels, and markers to craft a unique wine expression, develop a name and label, and even present their creation.

Lunch at Chateau Vartely Winery we can arrange a late lunch as well. 

Later enjoy Chateau Cojusna Winery - a charming local wine estate known for its warm hospitality and authentic Moldovan character.

Here you will enjoy a tour and a wine tasting which includes a tasting of 4 wines from the Authentic series: a dry white wine, a dry rosé, a dry barrel-aged red wine, as well as a special collection red liqueur wine Pastoral and a generous platter featuring fresh cheese, crispy grissini, and water.

Return to the hotel in Chisinau. Overnight stay.

Day 8: Chisinau International Airport transfer

Morning, get assisted transfer to Chisinau International Airport to fly to onward destination.
